More than 60,000 pounds of humanitarian aid bound for Afghanistan was loaded onto pallets Jan. 9, at the 118th Airlift Wing Air National Guard Base, Berry Field.

The Lamia Foundation, which was created by Lt. Gen. (retired) John Bradley, of Lebanon, is coordinating the donations with the help of the Denton Program to fly the goods overseas.
Date of the flight is pending at this time.

The donations will support the local civilian population of Afghanistan and include blankets, medical supplies, coats, jackets, gloves, boots, crutches, and more.

The Foundation was created after Bradley visited an area near Kabul where he came across a young girl named Lamia, who had asked him for a pair of boots.
