Colonel Brandon K. Beightol

Col. Brandon K. Beightol is the Vice Commander, 118th Wing, Berry Field Air National Guard Base, Nashville, TN. The mission of the 118th Wing is to provide the United States Air Force with persistent intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and combat capability. The wing has three distinct operational missions: a Remotely Piloted Aircraft Group, a Cyber ISR Group and a Targeting Group. The wing also provides expeditionary combat support and deployable medical capabilities. These combined mission sets provide robust combat capability to combatant commanders and agile emergency response supporting state and federal missions.

Colonel Beightol received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Tennessee and was commissioned through the Reserve Officers Training Corps in 1994. He then attended Intelligence training at Goodfellow AFB, TX. His initial operational experience included assignments in Air Mobility Command, Pacific Air Forces and Air Education & Training Command. From 2002-2011, Col Beightol served in a variety of positions at Tyndall AFB, FL, McGhee Tyson ANGB, TN, and at the National Guard Bureau, Arlington VA. During his initial tour at NGB (2007-2008), Col Beightol served as a speechwriter for the Director, Air National Guard. From 2011-2013, Col. Beightol commanded two squadrons in the California ANG, at Beale AFB, CA, then returned to the Washington DC area as a Pentagon executive officer for the Deputy Director, Air National Guard. He was then promoted to his current rank and served as the Deputy Director for ANG ISR forces at the Air National Guard Readiness Center, and later served as a Targeting Group Commander in Nashville, TN. Most recently, Col. Beightol served as the Chief of Staff for 1 AF (AFNORTH), Tyndall AFB, FL.
