Lt. Col. J. Tucker Rojas took command of the Tennessee Air National Guard’s 218th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group (ISRG) September 16, 2023 at Berry Field Air National Guard Base in Nashville, Tennessee.
Rojas, a 33-year service member, recognized the challenges of taking command. "There is no doubt that the expectation is to advance our capabilities and our relevance and to do it aggressively,” he said. “We need to outpace our adversaries at every turn. It is not an easy task, but we are up for that challenge.”
The 218th ISRG is responsible for collecting and analyzing critical information to support military and national security objectives. This group plays a vital role in gathering intelligence through a variety of methods to enhance situational awareness and decision-making for both state and federal missions.
